Artistic Support From A Concrete Angle

When one passes by a constructed building, whether older than the observer or newer than that person’s child, and the decorative effect of the concrete angle stands out, in buttresses, archways, or even artistically molded corners, one has to stop and admire.

There is something fundamentally different in a concrete angle that suggests the appearance of flair and creativity that plain concrete structures do not have. Although function far outweighs flair when it comes to concrete in many cases, interesting still should be considered.

A concrete angle’s primary function is to support concrete panels or columns. A most admirable and important function no doubt, but for something so elementary to have so much room for so much artistic signature and gratitude is outstanding. And a concrete angle is in perfect position, poised above heads and wowed in passing, such as the Roman and Greek buttresses, archways, and columns of old. This is where gratitude comes into play. The decorative ideas and inspiration for making something so necessary like a concrete angle go from working to working and cool looking at the same time. When environmental elements can cause stress and damage to a construction like a concrete column, concrete angles and forms are a good idea, especially coupled with the added reinforcement of rebar steel rods. Concrete construction is an art in itself, creating something from nothing, often on a huge scale. And there are many tools designed to create interesting concrete angles without taking away from the necessary function of the concept.

Roman architecture has already been built, but a concrete angle can still share some of its glory.
