Concrete Pavers More Popular in Europe

The popularity of concrete pavers is growing in the United States, but there is still a big difference between the US and Europe.

In Europe, 100 square feet of concrete pavers per person is installed annually. This is a much larger statistic than that of the US, where 1 square foot per person is installed annually. But despite the ratio difference, western popularity of concrete pavers is on the rise. And versatility is a good reason for this.

Concrete pavers can be installed on driveways, walkways, patios, pool decks, and even streets, and they come in a wide variety of patterns, colors and styles, making them attainable for just about any building idea. Pavers interlock with each other, forming patterned surfaces. They can be removed and re-installed, which contributes to less future service interruptions. Textures can also be mixed.

Why are they more widely used in Europe? A good reason would be that many European countries have streets made from concrete pavers. Most of Germany is paver streets. It is not necessary to visit places like Portugal and Italy to know a good portion of these countries use concrete pavers. Media like television and cinema depict it quite accurately and often. And the European style is well liked by many Americans.

Colors, either single or mixed, shapes, textures, and styles such as jigsaw, sweeping curves, geometric, or old world charm; these are just a portion of variety to expect when considering concrete pavers. And concrete pavers are becoming more universal all the time.
